Health Disclaimer
Version 1.0
This Health Disclaimer forms part of the Mindship Terms of Service. It applies to the Mindship mobile application, the website mindship.me and all content we provide (together, the "Services"). The Services are provided by LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY "MINDSHIP" (TOV "MAINDSHYP"), identification code 45964647 ("Mindship", "we").
In short
Mindship is a wellbeing tool, not a medical device or treatment. Do not use the app in a crisis — call your local emergency number. Do not practise without consulting a doctor if you have epilepsy, a cardiovascular condition, COPD, a diagnosed mental health disorder, or are pregnant. Practise sitting or lying down — never while driving or in water. If you feel dizzy, have chest pain or are short of breath, stop immediately.
1. Mindship is not medicine
Mindship is a tool for wellbeing, relaxation and self-care. Mindship is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological or psychotherapeutic services. The Services are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, disorder or condition.
Information in the Services is general in nature and does not replace consultation with a doctor, psychologist or other qualified professional. Do not stop or change any treatment, and do not delay seeking professional advice, because of anything you have read or heard in Mindship.
Mindship practices are developed together with specialists in breathing techniques and psychotherapy and are based on the principles of evidence-based approaches. However, breathing practices are not suitable for everyone and results are individual — we do not guarantee any particular outcome.
2. Not for emergencies
Mindship is not designed for crisis or emergency situations. The app does not recognise crises, and nobody at Mindship monitors your requests or responds to them.
If you are in danger, have thoughts of harming yourself or others, or experience a medical emergency, stop using the app and seek help immediately:

- Other countries: your local emergency number, or find a helpline at findahelpline.com
Numbers checked on 29 October 2026.
During an asthma attack or other acute condition, do not use breathing practices instead of medication prescribed to you (for example, an inhaler).
3. Contraindications
Do not use Mindship breathing practices without first consulting a doctor if you have, or have had:
- epilepsy or any seizure disorder;
- a cardiovascular condition: a history of heart attack, aneurysm (including in close relatives), uncontrolled blood pressure, a pacemaker;
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);
- a diagnosed mental health disorder (for example, post-traumatic stress disorder, severe depression, bipolar or psychotic disorder). Panic attacks alone are not a contraindication, but if they are frequent or severe, consult a professional.
Take particular care and consult a doctor if you have:
- asthma (especially if you need an inhaler);
- glaucoma, retinopathy, or recent eye surgery or vision correction;
- unhealed wounds, fractures or recent surgery;
- symptoms of a respiratory infection;
- early or late pregnancy, or are postpartum;
- older age, diabetes, a chronic illness, or take medication that affects your heart, blood pressure or breathing.
Do not practise under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Services are intended only for people aged 18 or over.
4. What you may feel
Breathing practices affect heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood, and emotional state. During or after a practice you may experience temporary sensations: mild light-headedness, tingling in the fingers or around the mouth, yawning, warmth or coldness in the body, emotional reactions (tears, laughter, excitement).
Rarely, intensive breathing or meditative practices may temporarily worsen anxiety or low mood. If you have a mental health condition or are unsure, consult a professional.
5. When to stop immediately
Stop the practice immediately, return to normal breathing and, if symptoms do not pass, seek medical help if you experience:
- strong dizziness, weakness or feeling that you may faint;
- chest pain, pressure or tightness, a strong or irregular heartbeat;
- worsening shortness of breath or air hunger;
- changes in vision or a severe headache;
- severe anxiety, panic or any other new or unusual symptoms.
6. Safe conditions
- Practise sitting or lying down in a safe place.
- Never practise while driving or operating any vehicle or machinery, swimming, bathing, near water or at height, or during any activity that requires full attention.
- Do not hold your breath longer than is comfortable and do not force yourself — a practice should feel pleasant.
7. Breathing test and in-app measurements
The breathing test is optional: without it, practices use a standard pace. If you take it, the app records 15 to 60 seconds of your breathing through the phone's microphone, and our analysis software — signal processing and machine-learning models — estimates the length of your inhales, exhales and pauses, your breathing rate and how even your rhythm is. Mindship uses these values to adapt the pace of practices to you and to show your results and how they change over time.
Accuracy depends on your device and its microphone, background noise and how you breathe during the test. In-app figures, results and insights are not medical measurements and must not be used to assess lung function, perform spirometry, or diagnose or monitor any condition.
8. Artificial intelligence
Mindship uses artificial intelligence to choose a practice from its library based on what you type or say. AI can make mistakes, does not know your medical history and does not replace a professional. An AI recommendation is a suggestion, not an instruction: you can always choose another practice or none at all.
The narrator voices in the practices are created with AI voice synthesis.
9. Your responsibility
By using the Services you confirm that:
- you have read this Disclaimer;
- none of the contraindications in Section 3 applies to you, or a doctor has confirmed that breathing practices are safe for you;
- you decide yourself whether, when and how to do each practice, taking into account your state of health, and you listen to your body;
- you understand that breathing practices carry inherent risks and, to the extent permitted by law, you do them at your own risk.
If you have physical or mental health limitations, use the Services only under the supervision of a doctor or another qualified professional.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Mindship, its participants, employees, contractors and the experts who took part in developing the practices are not liable for any harm arising from doing practices contrary to this Disclaimer, from incorrect performance of practices, from decisions made on the basis of content or AI recommendations, or from undisclosed health conditions. Mindship's liability is governed by Section 17 of the Terms of Service; nothing in this Disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law.
